Comfy and cosy, and yours to enjoy.

Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway, pre wedding getaway, honeymoon or touring holiday - a warm and friendly Huon Valley welcome awaits you at Crabtree River Cottages.

Our accommodation is situated on the Crabtree River in Grove, Tasmania. It is a scenic 30 minutes drive south from Hobart and 45 minutes from Hobart Airport.

Crabtree River Cottages are situated 7 minutes north of the largest town centre of the valley, Huonville and other notable Huon Valley attractions such as the Tahune Airwalk, Hastings Caves and the premium wineries such as Home Hill, Panorama, Hartz View, Brookfield and Herons Rise.

When choosing your Huon Valley accommodation we offer beautiful surroundings with a running mountain river with Trout, Platypus and our own flock of Native Hens.

You can enjoy complimentary port and chocolates. Complimentary breakfast provisions are provided which you can prepare in the self-contained facilities and then enjoy in your own dining room at your leisure. These facilities extend to you being able to prepare hot meals if you choose not to dine at one of the fantastic local establishments.

Cottages are 1 bedroom and cater for a maximum of two adults. Unfortunately given the nature of the location along side the Crabtree River, this accommodation is not suitable for children. They feature a combustion fireplace, a 2 person spa bath and a deck offering river views and BBQ facilities.

Your stay at Crabtree is special any time of the year!

Luxuriate in the temperate Huon Valley summer and enjoy the river, the beautiful countryside and the cool verandas. Picnic by the river with a feast of local cherries, raspberries and blackberries plus a selection of Huon Valley cheeses and freshly baked bread.

A river chilled bottle of local award winning wine would top it all off.

Visit us in autumn when the colours in the gardens of Crabtree River Cottages are simply breathtaking. Enjoy the local seafood including Huon salmon, lobster and a plentiful selection local produce.

Enjoy a romantic winter sojourn with cosy fires and a feeling of total relaxation. Try Tasmania’s world renowned Angus beef washed down with a magnificent Huon Pinot Noir.

And in spring the gardens are a riot of spring flowers. Lambs, calves and ducklings abound.

Accommodation Tasmania also provides self contained, self-catering home style holiday properties in beach-side Kingston (12 km south of Hobart) or historic Richmond (25 km north). We’re happy to help you work out the best place to stay so you can see the sights. Car transport is recommended as our island is compact and it allows you to experience as much of Tasmania as possible.

Many of our visitors enjoy heading down to the Tasman Peninsula to see historic Port Arthur and dropping in to the beautiful Dunalley Waterfront Café on the way home. The stunning Museum of Old and New Art – MONA is unmissable if modern art and culture is more your speed. Foodies cannot miss Bruny island and a visit to the Bruny Island Cheese factory, and a Gourmania Food Tour is a divine way to spend a morning or afternoon walking around visiting the hidden culinary delights of Hobart. A weekend visit to the Salamanca or Farm Gate Markets is a fantastic way to gather the provisions for a delicious homemade dinner.
