Crabtree River Cottages are an ideal base to day trip and enjoy both notable Hobart and Huon Valley attractions. 

Our accommodation is situated on the banks of the Crabtree River in Grove, Tasmania. It is a scenic 25 minutes drive south from Hobart, 45 minutes from Hobart Airport and a 7 minute drive north to Huonville which is the largest centre in the Huon Valley. Popular Kingston Beach is a 20 minute drive away.

When choosing your Huon Valley accommodation we offer beautiful surroundings with a running mountain river with Trout, Platypus and birdlife of which the Swallows return each year.

Crabtree River Cottages are award-winning Huon Valley accommodation set in the peaceful and quiet Huon Valley environment. We have been rated number one for our area by Trip Advisor on many occasions which include the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Awards

Each cottage has a queen bedroom which accommodates a single or a couple and the property comprising of 2 cottages is also ideal for 2 couples travelling together each having their own private self contained self catering cottage to occupy.

 Explore the Huon Valley, Crabtree River Cottages are an ideal base to tour local attractions and day trips in the Huon Valley and surrounding areas. These attractions include the Tahune Airwalk, Hastings Caves, beautiful Cockle Creek,  premium wineries such as Home Hill, Panorama, Hartzview, Brookfield and Herons Rise.   A day trip to Bruny Island is also popular (ferry from Kettering)

Willie Smith's Apple Shed Voucher                                                                                                       

Guests staying at Crabtree River Cottages receive a voucher to spend at Willie Smith's Cider Shed during their stay.  Willie Smith's Apple Shed (Cider House, Mseum and Distillery) is located only a 2 minute drive from Crabtree River Cottages.  Enjoy morning and afternoon teas, meals and treats a favourite being their Apple Pie. An evening meal and a band can be enjoyed of a Friday evening. Willie Smiths is also a popular wedding venue and being in close proximity to Crabtree River Cottages we often accommodate the Bride and Groom on their wedding night.

SUMMER –Self-contained facilities enable you to prepare breakfast and meals and then enjoy in your own dining room at your leisure. These facilities extend to you being able to prepare hot meals if you choose not to dine at one of the fantastic local establishments. 

Cook a meal in the kitchenette using produce gathered during a day exploring the Huon Valley, then curl up by the fire sipping your complimentary port and chocolates.

The 1 bedroom cottages have high, vaulted ceilings and dormer windows which enable you to view the moon and stars at night and large verandas overlooking the Crabtree River and the pastures beyond.

Cottages are 1 bedroom and cater for a maximum of two adults. Unfortunaltely given the nature of the location along side the Crabtree River, this accommodation is unfortunatlely not suitable for children.
